On the Issues
Winthrop deserves a future that is welcoming, accessible, financially stable, and above all, safe. By understanding the changes our community has experienced over the past several decades—and using that knowledge to guide our decisions—we can bridge the gap between Winthrop’s proud past and its promising future.
Our town faces a wide range of challenges, but my focus as a candidate for Town Council President centers on four key priorities:
1. Financial Stability Through Predictable, Pragmatic Policies
We need forward-looking financial strategies that help residents plan with confidence. That means budgeting proactively to prevent sudden tax spikes, supporting renters and homeowners alike, and avoiding fiscal decisions that leave us scrambling later. Sound financial planning today creates long-term stability for Winthrop families.
2. Accessibility and Transparency in Local Government
Government should work for everyone—and that starts with making Town Hall more transparent and approachable. I will champion clear communication, accessible information, and increased opportunities for public input. Every resident should understand how decisions are made and feel empowered to participate.
3. Civic Education and Community Engagement
When people understand how local government works, they’re more likely to engage with it. I believe in building civic knowledge across all ages, from youth to seniors, to strengthen participation and trust. Education and outreach are tools for equity and empowerment.
4. Regional Mobility and Stronger Inter-Town Relationships
Winthrop’s future depends on reliable, affordable public transit and smart regional cooperation. I will advocate for improved transit access and fight for Winthrop’s interests in regional planning. By building strong relationships with neighboring communities, we can better address shared challenges and amplify our collective voice.
A Collaborative, Inclusive Approach to Leadership
Good governance starts with listening. As Town Council President, I will lead with empathy, transparency, and a deep respect for every voice in our community. I believe the best ideas come from working together—residents, local leaders, and Town staff—toward shared goals.
Winthrop deserves a Town Council that reflects the people it serves and values input from every corner of our community. I’m committed to creating spaces where people feel heard, respected, and empowered to be part of the process. This isn’t about one person’s agenda—it’s about building consensus, solving problems, and leading with integrity.
